Patricia M. Gildersleeve, 82, formerly of Falls City and Lincoln, died Friday, March 15, 2013, in Bennington.
She was born in Lincoln Jan. 3, 1930, the daughter of George and Cleo (DeLong) Moore.
Pat retired after 24 years from the Nebraska Library Commission. She was a graduate of Falls City High School in 1948, University of Nebraska in 1952 and received her Master’s degree from the University of Illinois in 1958. On Dec. 12, 1953, she was united in marriage to Hal Gildersleeve in Falls City.
Pat was an animal lover (especially cats).
Survivors include her children, Meg Hawks, Omaha, and Tom (Alice) Gildersleeve, Oakland Park, FL, four grandchildren, a brother, Dennis Moore, Des Moines, IA, a sister-in-law, Sharon Moore, Des Moines, special caregivers, Jane Southwell, Alvo, and April McGinnis, Omaha, and dear friends Mary Young, Annandale, VA, and Roberta Fagan, Lincoln.
Her parents and husband, Hal, preceded her in death.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, March 19, at Butherus, Maser and Love Funeral Home in Lincoln. The Rev. Mike McMurtry officiated. A private family inurnment was held in Wyuka Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Capital Humane Society, Lincoln Public Libraries or the Alzheimer’s Association.
