The HTRS/Pawnee City wrestling team hit the mats on Friday at Louisville High School. HTRS/PC scored 45 team points and finished seventh out of nine teams. Fillmore County won the invite with 254.5 points.
At 182, Kaden Demers went 1-4, placing fifth and scoring three points. Demers lost his first three matches before rebounding with a pin of Christopher Phillips of Palmyra in 3:56. In the fifth round, Demers fell to Lowther of JCC by fall at 1:42.
At 195, Andy Maloley was perfect, scoring 27 points and bringing home first place. Maloley picked up wins in fifty-one seconds, 1:08 and 1:02 in the first three rounds. In the fourth round, Maloley defeated Ben Tuttle of Platteview by a 6-0 decision and in the championship, Maloley pinned Tucker Thomas of JCC in 1:04 for the title.
At 285, Ty Faulks finished the day 3-2, scored 15 points and brought home fourth place. Faulks pinned Coster of Weeping Water in the first round and won by fall over Johnstone of Cedar Bluffs in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Faulks fell to Warner of Palmyra by fall at 2:16 but rebounded with a win in 59 seconds over Martenson of Platteview. In the third-place match, Faulks fell to 33-5 Christian Harrifeld of JCC by fall at 4:40.
