Henry “Hank” T. Osterhaus, 71, of Salem, NE, passed away November 15, 2021 at Falls City. He was born February 21, 1950 at Axtell, KS to Henry A. and Frances (Holthaus) Osterhaus.
He married Theresa Wessel in 1971 and they were divorced in 1994.
Hank was raised at St. Benedict and graduated B & B High School at Baileyville, KS in 1968. Following graduation he worked as a mechanic for various farmers, Brey Motor’s and Osterhaus Garage both of Sabetha. He also worked at Stalder Cattle for many years, retiring in 2014. He then worked part-time for many farmers fixing their older equipment. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church at St. Benedict, KS.
Hank is survived by his son, Brian and his wife Brandon of Colorado Springs, CO, Darin and his wife Jennifer of Sabetha, KS, brothers, Robert and his wife Zita of Summerfield, KS, Richard and his wife Mary Kay of Beatrice, NE, Gerald C. and his wife Judy of Seneca, KS, Dennis and his wife Kathleen of Sabetha, sisters, Mildred Eisenbarth of Hoyt, KS, Sister Immaculata DCJ at Wauwatosa, WI, Sharon Boxterman and her husband Richard of Sabetha, Jeanette Koch and her husband Elmer of Kansas City, MO, brother-in-law, Gus Sandmann of Blue Rapids, KS and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Marvin and Edward (10), and sisters, Delores Brucken and Jo Ann Sandmann.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Lawrence Stoley as the presiding priest.
A Parish Rosary will be recited on Friday, 1 hour prior to service at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
