Loretta Mae Porter, 95, of Salem, NE, went to be with her Lord and savior May 24th 2021. She was born April 16th 1926 in rural Bern, KS to Art and Alta (Britt) Moser. She was the third oldest to 6 children. She was raised in the Summerfield and Pawnee City area. She married Frank Porter on April 20, 1945 in Seneca, KS. She attend grade school until the 8th grade then later obtain her GED at the age of 62.
She lived in California from 1956 to 1969. She worked at Woodings Verona and Burger King in Falls City, NE for several years. She owned and operated the Snoop Shop in Salem for many years sharing her love of a great find. She worked as a waitress at the Dubois bar and grill in Dubois, NE.
She was a member of the Good New Assembly of God in Falls City, NE for many years.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a homemaker to her four children. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing every Saturday night away, hitting the slots at the casino, going to farm sales, bird watching, traveling and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Frank, daughter Bonnie Graves, son Stephen Porter, grandson Mathew Porter, three brothers, and one sister.
Loretta is survived by her Sister Shirley Dietrich of Dubois, daughters, Linda Luedeke and husband John of Lincoln, daughter Janice de Koning and husband Henry of Dawson. Nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She will remain in our hearts forever, until we are reunited again.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Good News Assembly of God Church with reception luncheon to follow. Inurnment will be in the DuBois Cemetery.
