Tim Lyons, 65, of Falls City, NE, passed away October 10, 2020, in Falls City. He was born on October 8, 1955, at Falls City to John and Marjorie (Bennett) Lyons.
He married Lisa Rokey in December of 1979 at Sabetha and they were later divorced. He then married Sandy Appleoff at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Dawson in 2015.
Tim was raised in Dawson and graduated from Dawson-Verdon High School in 1974. He then attended Peru State College and then Kearney State College and in 1976, he began working for Burlington Northern Railroad; he was a roadmaster supervisor and retired in October of 2015. He then worked helping farmers, tree shearing and other jobs to stay busy. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Dawson and the ATA Trap Shooting, NRA and Falls City Elks Lodge.
Tim is survived by his wife, Sandy of Falls City, children, John and his wife Debbie of Sabetha, KS, Kelly Ford and her husband Chet of Kansas City, MO; mother, Marjorie Lyons of Falls City, sister, Cindy Taylor and her husband Ron of Kansas City, MO, brothers, Jeff and his wife Kathy of Effingham, KS, Steve and his wife Donna of Bennett, CO, Terry and his wife Deborah of Lincoln, Jim and his wife Mary of Omaha, Bill of Gardner, KS, Joe and his wife Theresa of Ashland, NE, grandchildren, John Emmet and Delilah Lyons, Masche and Farrah Ford. He was preceded in death by his father.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Dawson with Father Kenneth Hoesing as the presiding priest. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
A Parish Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 7:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The family will receive friends following the rosary at St. Mary’s Fellowship Hall.
