Ann Garland, 95, of Falls City, NE, passed away March 21, 2014 at Falls City. She was born April 19, 1918 at New York City, New York to the late John and Alice (Dovey) Hazzard.
On June 6, 1945 she married Joseph Garland in California. He passed away September 11, 1970.
Ann was an actress on Broadway in New York beginning her career at the age of seven and commented frequently she would have liked to have had a longer theater career. She returned to Falls City in l970 following the death of her husband and lived here until her death. Ann worked at Falter’s Clothing Store for l5 years and was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Ann is survived by her nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, John Hazzard, Jr. and cousins, John C. Falter, Mary Lou Langan and John P. Falter.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas Episcopal Church with Pastor Larry Parrish officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
The family prefers memorials to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Falls City Healthcare Community and the Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
