Falls City split a pair of games last week to bring their record to 4-2 on the early season.
Last Thursday the Lady Tigers traveled to Maryville, MO, where they put a crushing on the Lady Spoofs, 19-1.
FC scored 10 in the top of the first, then added three, three and four over the next three, which resulted in the game being called early because of the 10-run rule.
Recording two hits each for FC were Brittany Ritter, Kirstyn Buchholz, Brooke Scheitel, Bailey Armbruster, Sydney Armbruster and Morgan Bletscher. Buchholz, Scheitel and Bletscher were also responsible for two RBIs each.
Ritter, Buchholz, Scheitel and Sydney Armbruster crossed the plate three times a piece, while Bletscher, Allyson Scholl and Bailey Armbruster each scored twice.
Buchholz picked up the victory on the mound for FC. She allowed just four hits and one earned, while striking out six in four innings.
Friday night the Lady Tigers hosted Class C No. 10 ranked Wymore Southern to town for the home opener.
Southern’s Ellie Edmond was electric on the mound, as she allowed only two FC hits in picking up her second victory of the season. Edmond struck out nine and walked one in her seven innings of work.
Southern jumped out front with one run in the first, then added one in the third and fourth innings, one in the sixth and then two in the top of the seventh.
FC did their damage in the fourth and sixth innings where they scored one run in each of the frames.
Buchholz and Bailey Armbruster mustered the only FC hits and Buchholz scored both FC runs.
Buchholz allowed three earned on 14 hits and struck out four in the loss.
The Lady Tigers will look to get back in the winning circle Thursday when they travel to Auburn for a triangular with Freeman.
