Blake Vitale to be honored by Red Cross May 2 at Lincoln’s Cornhusker Hotel

A young Falls City man will be formally acknowledged for his heroic act next Thursday evening, May 2, in Lincoln during the 12th Annual “Tribute to Heroes Awards Dinner” sponsored by the Nebraska/Southwest Iowa Region of the American Red Cross. Blake Vitale, a 12-year-old seventh grade student at Falls City Middle School, along with seven others from southeast Nebraska will be recognized for their selfless acts of heroism and beginning tomorrow night, Lincoln-based KLKN Channel 8 will tell each of their stories as part of their “KLKN TV8 Heroes” series. Blake’s story will air next Monday and be available on the station’s website.
