Tammy Lea Leslie, one of three daughters of Dennis and Judy (Helms) Bahr, was born July 4, 1972, in Atlantic, Iowa. She attended Southeast Nebraska Consolidated Schools in Stella, Nebraska. She graduated from Southeast in 1990.
After graduation Tammy moved to Beatrice, Nebraska where she attended Southeast Community College. Continuing to live in Beatrice after her schooling, Tammy eventually
took a job with Mosaic in Beatrice. She was with the organization for 22 years, most recently serving as a DSP/Caregiver.
Among her interests, puzzle solving was her favorite. Tammy loved completing many types of puzzles: Sudoku, crosswords, and others.
Tammy was unexpectedly taken from this world
at her home in Beatrice on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at the age of 52 years, 2 months, and 4 days. She is preceded in death by 2 stepbrothers Kyle and Chad, grandparents Glen and Wilda Helms and Virgil and Marceline Bahr, 2 aunts, and an uncle.
Among the many who remember Tammy with love are her children Zachary Milke of Falls City, Nick (Kellsie) Milke of Daykin, Maddie Milke of Beatrice, and Jack Milke of Stella; grandchildren Jagger and Summer; parents Dennis and Judy Bahr of Stella; sisters Jody Bahr of Stella, Amy (Steve) Funk of Lyman, IA; uncle Everett Helms; other relatives and many friends.
A funeral service was held Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Stella Community Church, officiated by Revs. Dave Lockard and John States. Carolyn Bredemeier was accompanist for the trio of Lynn Lockard, Penny States, and Joan Wheeler as well as congregational hymns. Casket bearers were Zachary Milke, Nick Milke, Maddie Milke, Jack Milke, Dennis Bahr, Steve Funk, and Dennis Kirkendall. Jagger and Summer Milke and Laura Funk were honorary bearers. Burial followed in the Prairie Union Cemetery near Shubert.
