Caroline Chapp, 93, of Falls City, NE, passed away March 27, 2024 at Lincoln, NE. She was born May 14, 1930 at Ohiowa, NE to Henry and Sophie (Schneider) Folkerts.
She married Elmer Chapp on October 14, 1951 at Beatrice, NE. He passed away November 25, 2020.
Caroline was raised in Ohiowa and graduated Ohiowa High School in 1948. She then attended Beauty School in Beatrice and then did Salon work until getting married and moving to Auburn, NE. in 1953 the couple moved to Falls City where she did hair for various people, worked as a bookkeeper for Chapp Oil and was also a homemaker. She moved to Lincoln in 2021 to be near her son and grandson. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at 20th and Towle Street and a member of the Altar Guild, Debora Ruth Circle and acted as the wedding consultant for her church. She volunteered in Falls City as a poll worker, for the American Heart Association, and the Junior Women’s Club. She was a talented seamstress and artist.
Caroline is survived by her children, Colleen Chapp and her husband Dan Williamson of Eastsound, WA, Kenneth Chapp and his wife Sonnie Kroon of Lincoln, NE, Deanna Jensen and her husband Don Durden of Charlotte, NC, sister, Pauline Dey and her husband Bill of Alamosa, CA, grandchildren, Brian Chapp, Chris Durden and Jesse Williamson, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jurgen Folkerts, sister, Martha Polage and three siblings in infancy, daughter, Karen Kay in infancy and grandchildren, Candace and Jason Chapp.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11:30 AM at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Joanna Kathol officiating. Inurnment will be held on the same day at 10:30 AM at Steele Cemetery.
