Harry Harold Wist departed this life on June 4, 2023, at his home in Topeka, Kansas, at 74 years, 10 months and 29 days. He was the seventh of nine children born to Henry William and Berniece Lenore (Adams) Wist on July 5, 1948, in Falls City, Nebraska. He lived his first 15 years in the Honey Creek Area of Nebraska.
In 1963 the family moved to Hiawatha, Kansas, where he attended Hiawatha High School, graduating with the Class of 1966. After high school, Harry was employed by Wilde Tool and drove a mail truck from Hiawatha to Topeka and back. In 1990 Harry moved to Topeka, Kansas and worked for a book binding company until he retired.
Preceding Harry in death were his mother and father; sisters Elenora Alice Wisdom and Roberta Agnes Unertl and brothers William Russell Wist and Henry Leroy Wist.
Surviving family includes sister Grace Ilene (Chet) Weinstroer Jr., brother Edward Clarence (Joyce) Wist, brother Howard Wayne (Melissa/Missy) Wist, sister Anita Kay (Scott) Star-buck and 17 nieces and nephews. Harry will be missed!
Harry’s body has been cremated, and his final resting place will be in Steele Cemetery, Falls City, Nebraska. There will be no funeral, only the graveside service. The graveside service will be Wednesday, July 5, at 11:00 am. All friends and extended family are welcome to join the family at Steele Cemetery.
