Brian Bennett, 66, of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away January 21, 2026 at Lee’s Summit. He was born April 17, 1959 at Kansas City, KS to James and Audrey (Williams) Bennett
He married Mary Jo Krug on October 15, 1983 at Falls City, NE, establishing their home in Lincoln before moving to Lee’s Summit.
Brian was raised at Falls City and graduated from Falls City Sacred Heart in 1977. He graduated from Southeast Community College as an HVAC technician and worked in Lincoln, NE for 15 years before moving to the Kansas City where he worked for several companies until become employed as an Engineer for DST Systems. He retired in 2023. He enjoyed time with his family, especially with his grandson, Weston.
Brian is survived by his wife, Mary Jo of Lee’s Summit, daughters, Emily Jo Bennett of Lee’s Summit, Andrea Passmore and her husband Austin of Strausburg, MO, sisters, Joyce Reed and her husband Steve, Mary Beth Bennett, brothers, John Bennett and his wife Karen, Mike Bennett and his wife Roxy, Bill Bennett and his wife Nancy, Donnie Bennett, Steve Bennett and his wife Dana, David Bennett and his wife Sharon, Chuck Bennett and his wife Dawn, Ron Bennett, Dennis Bennett and his wife Sherry and a grandson, Weston Hardison. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Colleen Langan
His memorial service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Boatright officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
