Arleta (Durfee) Keeling Falloon, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was called home to her Heavenly Father December 22, 2025, at the age of 92. Arleta was born northeast of Falls City, NE on her grandparents’ farm (Paul and Lydia Grossoehmig), to her parents, Clarence E. Durfee and Lydia H. (Grossoehmig) Durfee on December 20, 1933. Her family moved to town in 1943. Clarence died October 10, 1948 of a heart-attack at age 46. Lydia remarried LaVerne Schmutzer in 1951.
Arleta worked at the Rivolli Theatre during her high school years, and graduated from Falls City High School in 1952. After graduating, she worked at the County Treasurer’s office in Falls City. She was later hired by Ozark Air Lines as a stewardess, but after a few flights decided that flying was not for her.
Arleta moved to California and worked for Land Title Company in Los Angeles. While home visiting family in Falls City, she met Robert Clayton Keeling (Falls City), who was also home visiting family, but lived in Southern California as well. The two were married November 27, 1955 at Christ Lutheran Church in Falls City, and then returned to Palmdale, CA. and later moved to Sylmar, CA. After several moves back and forth from CA to NE, the couple settled in Falls City in 1961. They had four children together. Robert (Bob) died of a heart-attack on September 18,1977 at age 45. Arleta worked for Dorr Funeral Home and continued to raise her children in Falls City.
Arleta married Dr. Frank Falloon on September 3, 1982, and moved to Grand Island, Nebraska, and eventually they moved to Fairbury, NE., where she discovered a love for playing golf. Dr. Falloon died October 8th, 2005. Arleta then moved to Lincoln to be with family. She moved to Omaha in July, 2007, again to be near family. Arleta was a member of Beautiful Savior Church, and enjoyed Bible studies, the New Horizons group, and developed close friendships within the church. Her faith and family were always a vital part of her life.
Preceded in death by her parents, brother, Wilber Durfee (Darlene), sister, Twila Fee, (Ronald), husbands, Robert C. Keeling and Dr. Frank Falloon, and step-son Michael Falloon.
She is survived by her step-brother Duane Schmutzer (Marcia), Lombard, IL, four children, William M. Keeling (Sonia), Grand Island, NE, Anne L. Fischer (Craig), Papillion, NE, John E. Keeling (Liz), Lincoln, NE, Michael R. Keeling (Ann), Lincoln, step-daughter Teri Falloon – Boeckner (Judd), Fairbury, five grandchildren, Robert C. (Bobby) Fischer (Vicki),(Omaha) Matthew C. Fischer, (Papillion), William C. Keeling (Skylar), Omaha, Kaitlyn M.Keeling-Kittsmiller (Izaac), Grand Island, Daniel M. Keeling (Breana), (Omaha), great grandchildren, Jocelyn and Sophia Fischer, and Ellis Kittsmiller, step-grandchildren, Derek Boeckner, (Kearney), Ross Boeckner (Paige), (Fairbury), step-great-grandchildren, Wynn, Dorothy, June, and Kix Boeckner, (Fairbury).
Her funeral will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
