Clarence Lippold

Clarence Lippold, 94, of Salem, NE, passed away December 12, 2024 at Salem. He was born March 17, 1930 at Barada, NE to Joseph and Julia (Bauman) Lippold.

He married Doris Schuetz on June 19, 1950 at Rulo, NE.

Clarence enlisted in the U. S. Army on February 8, 1952 at Omaha, NE. He earned a Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, United Nation Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged on January 15, 1954 at Camp Carson, CO.

Clarence was raised in the Barada area and attended Williamsville School. When married the couple lived in various places due to his service. When he was discharged, he returned and they lived in rural Richardson County and he farmed and raised livestock, moving into Salem in 1962 where they have lived since. He also worked as a machinist at Rolf’s, Frontier Homes and Falls City Millworks. He retired from Schuetz Tool and Die in Hiawatha, where he worked until he was 90. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and served the town of Salem in many capacities over the years.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Doris of Salem, children, Steve and his wife Nancy of Salem, Ed and his wife Robin of Rulo, Angie Strauch and her husband Casey of Salem, brother, Albert of Falls City, nine grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Vickie Morehead, sister, Anna Margaret Schawang and a sister in infancy.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Father Jim Meysenburg officiating. Interment will be in Maple Cemetery at Salem. Military Graveside Honors By Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
