Lee Ferguson, 90, of Falls City, NE, passed away October 7, 2024 at Lincoln, NE. She was born November 28, 1933 at Brock, NE to Hugh and Nainie (Robertson) Stoddard.
She married Robert Ferguson on November 29, 1953 at Brock, NE. He passed away March 4, 2023.
Lee was raised in Brock and graduated Brock Consolidated High School. She then went on to attend Peru State College for 2 years. When the couple was married, they made their home in Falls City. She worked at the courthouse in the treasurer’s office and then as a bookkeeper at Richardson County Bank before having children. She returned to the work force 3 years after her youngest child was born. She started working part-time at Falls City Hospital in the business office. When the children were all in school, she went to full time. She became the office manager and then assistant administrator until her retirement at the end of 1994. Later she worked for the construction firm working at the hospital. She also worked for Don as the secretary of Ram Exterminators. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and held several positions in the church. She was past president of Mrs. Jaycees, member PTA, Joy Belles, Pink Ladies, Falter Art Revue, Serosis, Richardson County Genealogy. She served on the boards of the Community Medical Center and Senior Citizens Board.
Lee is survived by her children, Nick and Don Ferguson both of Falls City, Gerry Ferguson and his wife Estella of De Kalb, MO, Barbie Bruss and her husband Logan of Bennet, NE, grandchildren, Dustin and Jordyn Ferguson, Erica and Dan Ferguson, Aaron and Brent Matthews, Amber Wagner, Dillon Ferguson, Rachel Barth and Jeffrey Bruss and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Robert Stoddard and a sister, Evelyn Jensen.
Her memorial service will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 10:30 AM at First United Methodist Church with Lauri Beach officiating. Inurnment will be in Steele Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-5:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to family choice for later designation.
