Harold Niedfeldt, 89, of Falls City, NE, passed away May 1, 2024 at Omaha, NE. He was born March 7, 1935 in Falls City to Albert and Anna (Grossoehmig) Niedfeldt, Sr.
He married Joann Krueger on May 27, 1956 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 6 miles north of Falls City.
Harold lived north of Falls City and moved southeast of Shubert at the age of 16. He attended grade school at District 17 rural school and St. Paul’s Lutheran School. He graduated from Falls City High School in 1953. After graduation, he farmed in the Falls City and Shubert areas and also sold Archer Oil on the side. He retired in 2007. They moved into Falls City following his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (6 miles north of Falls City) and held many offices in church leadership and was a past president of Martin Luther Association at Beatrice and a board member of the Verdon Rural Protective Fire District from 1979-2007. The couple enjoyed traveling and took many trips and Harold liked to fish.
Harold is survived by his wife of almost 68 years, Joann of Falls City, daughter, Rita Kreifels and her husband Scott of Verdon, sisters, Eileen Hall and her husband Lyle and Elaine Nispel both of Lincoln, NE, grandchildren, Alan (Courtney) Kreifels, Eric (Skylar) Kreifels, Kari (Taylor) Cook all of Falls City, great-grandchildren, Emberly and Hayden Cook, Kamdyn and Cord Kreifels., sister-in-law, Jean Niedfeldt of Falls City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Richard and Ronald, brothers, Glenn, Albert, Jr. and Kenneth and a sister, Evelyn Wissman.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (6 miles north of Falls City) with Reverend Brian Holle officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
Viewing will begin Sunday afternoon at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home until 5:00 PM.
