Elaine Griebel, 75, of Falls City, NE, passed away April 10, 2024 at Falls City. She was born March 2, 1949 at Falls City to Walter and Emma (Scholl) Strecker.
Elaine was raised in the Barada area before moving to Falls City and graduating from Sacred Heart High School in 1967. Following graduation, she attended business school in Lincoln, NE and then worked at State Farm Insurance Company doing clerical work for the next 29 years. She took early retirement in 2002 and moved back to Falls City where she volunteered for the Humane Society and Falls City Public Schools as a mentor. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Elaine is survived by her daughters, Anne (Anthony McCoy) Marie White of Lincoln, Michele Lynn Griebel of Omaha, NE, five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and Darlene Nemecheck and many close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Caroline Gerdes, Bernice Hartzell and a brother, Raymond Strecker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Jim Meysenburg officiating. Interment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery.
A Parish Rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 7:30 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the rosary.
