Colleen Vice, 88, of Omaha, NE, passed away February 15, 2024 at Omaha. She was born September 22, 1935 in Richardson County, NE to Harry and Dolly (Bowers) Ruch. She was lovingly called “Nan” by those who knew her. She was born on September 22, 1935. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and a friend to all. She grew up in Saint Deroin, NE and attended Saint Deroin schoolhouse.
At the age of 17, Colleen married Teddy Vice of Shubert in Hiawatha, KS on September 13th, 1953. Following the birth of their daughters, Teddy and Colleen moved to Omaha. In the beginning, Colleen took a job working at Saint Joseph’s Hospital as a nurse’s aid in the children’s wing. During the holiday seasons, Colleen worked part time at Brandeis Department Store. Later, Teddy and Colleen decided to open up their own business out of their garage.
Over the years, Colleen loved her weekly garden club meetings, bowling, knitting, sewing, and Bible study. She and Teddy were faithful members of Spirit Life Assemblies of God in Omaha. She served as a Sunday School and Missionettes teacher throughout her years there.
Preceded in death by husband, Teddy; mother, Dolly Berry; brothers, Miles Ruch, Sargent Emil (Dale) Schultz, Jean Berry, and Jay W Berry; as well as numerous relatives both on her and Teddy’s sides. Colleen has left many loved ones behind including daughters Deb and Dollie; grandchildren Corie Holland, Brent and Sara Kelderman; brother, Jim (Karen) Berry; brother-in-law, Rolland (Iris) Vice; as well as numerous loved ones.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Spirit Life Assemblies of God Church in Omaha with Pastor Charles Davis officiating. Interment will be in Harris Cemetery at 3:00 PM the same Day.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8:00 PM at the Spirit Life Assemblies of God Church (48th and Harrison, Omaha).
