Mary Elizabeth Cooley, 26 unexpectedly departed her earthly life for the kingdom of Heaven on August 15, 2023.
Mary was a daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, and friend to many. She attended and graduated from Mill Valley High School in 2015. She attended Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School and then lived all over the US. Mary was a lover of all music, was self-taught on guitar and piano. She really shined when she was able to sing, for herself and for others whether it was in the High School choir, open mic nights or at festivals. She did not know a stranger and was an adventurous free spirit who saw the good in others. She had a wicked sense of humor, with an amazing infectious laugh, and loved making others laugh around her. She was enchanted by children and loved to care for them as well as her senior family members. She gave of herself on a mission trip to South Africa to care for those with HIV/AIDS.
Mary is survived by her mother, Shari Cooley, father, Tim Cooley and brother Jack Cooley, Grandmother, Anne Lopiano, Aunt’s and Uncles; Mark Smith and Jackie, Jack Morgan and Sherry, Amy and Charlie Wunsch, Terri Cole, cousins; Ben, Evan, Shelby, Dalton, Ed, Lauren, Lexie, Kayla and many, many friends all over the US.
A Celebration of Mary’s life will take place on September 9, from 2-3 p.m.at Community Covenant Church 15700 W. 87th Parkway Lenexa, KS. Please join our family as we remember her life and send her home to be with God.
Memorials will be used to set up a scholarship fund at Mill Valley HS for senior students pursuing music in college.
