Eutiva JoAnn Dunn, 102 of Omaha, NE (formerly of Falls City, NE), passed away June 3, 2023 at Omaha. She was born August 23, 1920 at Bridgeport, NE to Louis T. and Dorthea (Kentopp) Townsend.
JoAnn graduated from Falls City High School with the class of 1937 and after one year of college at Peru State she worked with and married her husband, Wayne E. Dunn. During the war they moved to Bremerton, WA where he worked in the ship yards and she worked at the Bremerton Branch of the First National Bank of Seattle. Following this she worked ten years at the Falls City Creamery, four years at International Harvester in Falls City, six years for the Cohn Foundation in Oklahoma City and twenty years with the State of Oklahoma Retirement System where she was an accountant. When she returned to Richardson County, she operated the Salem Post Office for six years and retired at the age of 83. In the years since she has lived in the Falls City, Henderson, NV and had just recently taken up residence in Omaha, NE.
Her hobbies included square dancing, bowling and sudoku. She loved animals and passionately worked to help reduce homeless dogs and cats by finding them homes and promoting spaying and neutering.
She is survived by her son, Tom and his wife Karen of Plattsmouth, NE, grandchildren, Tim Dunn and Gina Long, great-grandchildren, Katie, Skylar and Jace Long and Nathan Dunn. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Steele Cemetery with Elysia McGill officiating.
