Bernice Davis, 96, of Falls City, NE, passed away April 16, 2023 at Falls City. She was born Jun 9, 1926 at Papillion, NE to William and Anna Amanda (Hauschild) Zeeb
She married Theodore Davis, Jr. on October 10, 1946 at Omaha, NE. They later divorced in 1971.
Bernice was raised in rural Papillion and attended Lutheran School and country school. Following her schooling she worked on the family farm. When married the couple established their home on a farm and later moved to Maitland, MO and then to Mound City, MO and in 1973 they moved to Falls City and have lived there since. She was employed by In Home Health and assisted the elderly in their home. She retired in 2006.
Bernice is survived by her sons, Gary and his wife Barbara of Jackson, TN, William and his wife Donna of St. Joseph, MO, Larry and his friend Barb Shoemaker of Falls City, daughter, Deb Gruber and her husband Delmer of Falls City, seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Donald Lee, a grandson, Kevin Mez, brothers, Albert, Louis and William Zeeb, sisters, Elizabeth Willms, Lena Koke, Lillian Hayes, Frieda Godsey and Caroline Nielsen.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Fay Ann Blaylock officiating. Interment will be in Springfield Cemetery at Springfield, NE at 12:30 P.M. the same day.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
