On Saturday morning, September 3, the Falls City cross country teams competed at the Beatrice High School Invitational. The Falls City boy’s team finished with 79 points to finish fifth. Norris won the meet with ten points, Waverly was second with 47 and Beatrice was third with 52. Ryker McCullough was the only medalist for FC, running the course in 18:33.78 for tenth place. Blake Rolfe was the next highest finisher for the Tigers, running a 19:56.73 for 27th. Tallan Zimmerman was 27th (20:01.99), Alex McKim was right behind in 33rd (20:04.65), Bailey Thimmes was 32nd (21:19.03) and Quenton Adams was 56th in 21:37.49. Also running for FC were Bryson Buttrick (60th, 21:59.67), Kyle Daake (62nd, 22:10.04), Rome West (73rd, 23:03.30), Hayden Findlay (78th, 23:31.93), Cayden Dunkhas (79th, 23:51.50), Josh Brown (89th, 25:52.93), Emmett Daake (90th, 26:44.87) and Keifer Adams (92nd, 27:06.81). Riley Boonstra was the winner of the event at 16:36.66.
The Falls City girls had a pair of varsity runners compete, with Guila Bosisio finishing 22nd in 24:02.34 and Mylie Crawford was 25th in 24:34.04. Elle Thomas of Norris won the 5K in 19:46.45.
The Tiger middle schoolers also ran on Saturday. For the boys, Lathan Richey was 37th (10:30.97) and Tanner Jackson ran an 11:03.39 for 49th. Gabi Young was 16th for the Tiger girl’s team, running the course in 11:1248. Jennifer Sweeney was 24th in 11:52.88, Madalynn Hawley was 32nd in 12:21.69, Riylan Stroebel was 40th in 13:18.92, Skylan Stroebel was 43rd in 13:39.38 and Indea Holman was 48th in 14:19.84.
The cross country teams are in action again on Thursday, September 8, beginning at 4:00 pm in Fairbury.
