Don Buck, 87, of Falls City, NE, passed away July 27, 2021 at Lincoln, NE. He was born August 13, 1933 at Greenwood, NE to William and Ellen (Villeneuve) Buck.
He married Joyce Luginbill on January 19, 1957 at Lincoln, NE.
Don enlisted into the United States Navy on November 7, 1951at Lincoln. He received the National Defense Service Medal and was honorably discharged on June 12, 1954 at Lincoln.
Don was raised at Lincoln and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1952. When discharged he worked in print shops in Lincoln and when married the couple lived in Lincoln, moved to Kansas City, then to Murdock and then to Falls City in 1978 where he worked for Rico Printing. He purchased Quality Print, ING which became Buck’s Printing Company. He sold the press to Wolfe’s Printing & worked for them part-time. He also worked as a cashier at Sac & Fox Casino. He was a member of the Elk’s Club, holding the office of Past Exalted Ruler, Lion’s Club, American Legion and involved in youth sports.
Don is survived by his wife Joyce of Falls City, sons Todd and his wife Janis of Texas and Calvin of Falls City, two grandchildren Nicole and Todd, Jr. Buck both of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Norman and Larry, one in infancy, sisters, Dolores Young and Laura Lane.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, July 30, 2021 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at 2:00 P.M. with Fr. Lawrence Stoley officiating.
Inurnment was at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery at Greenwood, NE on Saturday, July 31, 2021 with Full Military Graveside Honors.
A parish rosary will be recited on Friday at 1:00 P.M. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic School Endowment Fund.
