Zelma Irene (Armstrong) Jamison, 83, of Pawnee City, Nebraska was born on October 13, 1935, in Peru, Nebraska to Russell and Glayda (Keithley) Armstrong.
She grew up in Peru and Shubert, Nebraska and attended Shubert High School. On January 29, 1956, Zelma was united in marriage to Marvin Howard Jamison at the Shubert Christian Church. In the 63 years of marriage, Zelma lived over 23 years in Omaha, Nebraska. She enjoyed 40 years of small town living in the four corner states of Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri. Zelma also lived in the states of Wyoming and Colorado while involved in Christian Ministry with her husband Marvin.
She was a beloved church camp cook for hundreds of young people at three different church camps and owned and operated the Shubert Café for two years. Zelma worked as a Mary Kay Consultant, a public-school cook and was an amazing dessert cook at Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri. She was a member of the Table Rock Church of Christ and loved going to church, teaching Sunday school, sharing in lady’s bible studies and helping at vacation Bible Schools. Zelma enjoyed hunting, fishing, having a big family and was an avid Husker football fan.
Zelma went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at her home in Pawnee City, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of eighty-three years, eleven months and twenty-five days. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Martin, granddaughter Charissa Fitch, a brother John Armstrong and sisters Regina Cassidy and Sondra Yoesel.
Zelma is survived by her loving husband Pastor Marvin Jamison of Pawnee City, NE; son Steven (Mary) Jamison of Elk Creek, NE; daughters: Sheila Bauermeister of Omaha, NE; Teresa (Don) Michael of Joplin, MO; Trina (Scott) Fitch of St. James, MO; Susan (Mark) Kenyon of Cumings, KS; 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and many dear nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at The Christian Church in Auburn, Nebraska with Pastor Scott Fitch officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. at The Hall Funeral Chapel, 707 15th Street in Auburn, Nebraska. Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m.
Interment will be at the Nemaha Cemetery in Nemaha, Nebraska.
Memorials contributions may be given to the Table Rock Church of Christ.
