Charlotte Hill, 91, of Falls City, NE, passed away November 26, 2018 in Falls City. She was born April 15, 1927 in Friend, NE to Charles and Ruth (Stark) Spohn.
Charlotte was raised in Friend and graduated Friend High School in 1943, following graduation, she attended Lincoln School of Commerce.
She married James W. Hill on February 19, 1949 in Friend. He passed away February 19, 1999.
When married the couple established their home in Lincoln and she was employed at L. L. Coryell and Morrill Hall. In 1953 they moved to Falls City when they purchased Hillyard’s and renamed the business, Jim Hill’s Paint, Glass and Wallpaper. She was actively involved in the business until she retired in 2015. She enjoyed family gathers of all kinds, including holidays, sporting events and Big Lake. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Altar Society and Catholic Daughters. She was the first president of Mrs. Jaycees.
Charlotte is survived by her children, William and his wife Barb of Omaha, Thomas and his wife Mary Chris of Chicago, Ronald and his wife Ann of Falls City, Gerald and his wife Linda of Kearney, MO, Daniel and his wife Beth of Falls City, Dorothy Hill of Olathe, KS, sister, Joann Smith of Papillion, NE, thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Emmett Spohn and a great-grandson, Charlie Hill.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Thomas Dunavan as the presiding priest. Interment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery.
Catholic Daughters Rosary will be recited on Friday at 4:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
A Parish Rosary will be recited on Friday at 7:00 PM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with family receiving friends at O’Connor Hall following the rosary.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to the church or the Sacred Heart Endowment Fund.
