Lillian I. Keyes

Lillian I. Keyes, 99, of Sabetha, KS (formerly of Falls City), passed away October 29, 2018, at Sabetha. She was born September 28, 1919, at Sheridan, WY to Fred and Dorathea (Paulsen) Kruse.

Lillian was raised at Story, WY and graduated Sheridan High School in 1940. She earned her teaching certificate from Wyoming University. 

She married Lynn A. Keyes on December 26, 1949, at West Henrietta, NY. He passed away March 17, 2008. 

She and Lynn did mission work in the Philippines and traveled extensively as missionaries. The couple settled in Falls City in 1972, and she taught at Southeast Consolidated Elementary School, retiring in 1988. She moved to Sabetha in 2009 and had lived there since. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women as well as the Retired Teachers Association.

Lillian is survived by her daughter, Deborah Rieger and her husband Roy of Falls City. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Dean Allen Keyes, sister Better Kester and brothers, Fred and Pete Kruse.

Services in Sabetha were held on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Apostolic Christian Home Chapel.

Services in Falls City will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at 10:30 AM at Bethel United Methodist Church with Reverend Jerry Yount officiating. Interment will be in Bethel-Zion Cemetery.

The family received friends on Friday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
