Johnnie L. “Jack” Gose

Johnnie L. “Jack” Gose, 85 of Lincoln, NE, died Monday, October 8, 2018, at Saunders Care Center in Wahoo, NE.  He was born March 22, 1933, in Blue Rapids, KS, to John Earl and Ruth (Sample) Gose.  Jack served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  

He was united in marriage to Lillian “May” Talbot on December 11, 1955, at the First Baptist Church in Winifred, KS. 

Through the years, Jack worked for Hall Bros. Construction in Marysville, KS, Frontier Homes Trailers in Falls City, NE, and 40 years with Falls City Telephone.

 Jack was a past member of First Baptist Church where he was a trustee and a member of the Men’s Group.  He was a member of Falls City North Ridge, Calvary Community Church in Lincoln, NE, Awana Program and the Falls City VFW where he served on the Honor Guard.

 Jack was a loving husband, proud father and grandfather, gardener, fisherman, hunter and wood crafter.  He made many wood crafts including shelves, quilt racks and rocking horses.  He was a military history buff and he enjoyed going to coffee with many friends and veterans at the Falls City Sun Mart.  Jack always enjoyed the many camping trips with his family.

He is survived by wife of 62 years, Lillian “May” Gose; children, Pam (Skip) McPheron of Wymore, NE, Greg (Lory) Gose of Lincoln, and Bradley (Crystal) Gose of Lincoln; grandchildren, Carmen (Sean) Barry, Kim (Jason) Canaway, Carla (Jeremy) Payne, Taylor Gose, Carson Gose, Brett Gose, Caleb Gose and fiancé Amanda Slater, Noah (Chloe) Gose and Eden Gose; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Louise Herring, Independence, KS, Betty Zimmerman of Washington, KS, Jerry Gose Sr. of Beatrice, NE, Donald (Debbie) Gose of Wakefield, KS, and David (Dianna) Gose of Waterloo, NE; many nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by parents, John Earl and Ruth Gose; brother, Alvin Gose; sister, Leota Wassenberg; grandson, Ian Koehler Gose; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sylvis and Roberta (Farrar) Talbot, sister-in-law, Judy Calloway; brothers-in-law, Virgil Zimmerman and William Wassenberg; niece, Patricia Zimmerman Hinkle.

Funeral services were held on  Mon. Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. at Calvary Community Church, 4400 N. 1st St., Lincoln. Pastor Scott Wiles will be officiating.

Military honors by U.S. National Guard, American Legion #102 and American Legion #3.

Interment, Tues. (10/16/18) 10 a.m. at Marysville Cemetery, Marysville, KS.
