Janice E. Kirkendall

Janice E. Kirkendall, 76, of Falls City, passed away September 25, 2018 in Falls City. She was born August 22, 1942 in Salem, to James and Grace (Windle) Wittwer. 

She married Paul Kaiser and they were later divorced. She married Randy Kirkendall in 1973 in Falls City.

Janice was raised in Salem and graduated Salem High School in 1960. When she and Randy married they made their home in Falls City and she worked various places but will be best remembered as the “Pamida Girl”. She retired from Pamida in 1990 due to failing health.

Janice is survived by her husband, Randy of Falls City, sons, Jeff Kaiser and his wife Shannon of Mancos, CO, Travis Kirkendall of Falls City, daughters, Julie Phroper and her husband Cliff of Falls City, Heidi Stevens and her husband Dan of Overland Park, KS, sisters, Pat Weir and her husband Ed of Bakersfield, CA, Kay Frey of Sabetha, KS, brother, Gary Wittwer and his wife Annie of Salem, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, father-in-law, Dean Kirkendall of Falls City, sister-in-law, Jan Wittwer of Falls City, nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, David, Frederick, Jack, Richard and Robert Wittwer, sisters, a twin sister Janet in infancy and Mary Eoff.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 2:30 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral with Reverend Gene Rowell officiating. Interment will be in Maple Cemetery at Salem.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
