Marlin Gene Scheitel, 78, of Angier, NC, passed away on June 10, peacefully in his sleep.
Marlin was born on March 2, 1940 in Falls City, NE, where he was raised until he joined the Air Force in the late sixties. After he was discharged from the Air Force, he moved to Lincoln, NE where he worked construction his entire life until retirement.
He married Judy Lancaster, December 24, 1975. They had a son together, Jeffrey Joe Scheitel on July 29, 1977.
Marlin was a hard worker and loved to fish and camp and loved going on family reunions to South Dakota with his wife, son, grandkids and stepchildren whenever possible.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judy Scheitel, his son Jeffrey Scheitel and his wife Shari, and their two children, Tessa and Brody Gene Scheitel, four step children from Judy’s previous marriage, his sister, JoAnn Koso and several nieces and nephews.
Marlin was preceded in death by his father Benny Scheitel, his mother, Mabel Scheitel and his younger brother, Virgil Scheitel.
There will be a small service in South Dakota for immediate family when it can be arranged.
