Terry Ramsey, 78, of Falls City, NE passed away April 19, 2018 at Falls City. He was born July 27, 1939 at Falls City to Vance and Patricia (Timothy) Ramsey.
Terry enlisted in the United States Air Force on June 1, 1961. He served with the 788th Radar Squadron. He was honorably discharge March 10, 1964 at Truax Field, WI.
He married Myra Sparks in 1968 at Belmont, MS and they divorced in 1974. He then married Margaret Strecker-Schutte on October 23, 1987 at Las Vegas, NV.
Terry was raised at Falls City and graduated Falls City High School in 1957. Upon his discharge from service he worked for Frontier Homes and Sunset Trailers and later transferred to Red Bay, AL to set up travel trailer plants. He served as plant manager in Alabama, Mississippi and Texas. Upon his return to Falls City he did house painting and odd jobs before starting at the Post Office in 1976. He retired in July of 2000 with 26 years to his credit and additional 4 years in the Air Force for a total of 30 years working for the federal government.
He was an avid reader of history and biographies. He read the Omaha, Lincoln and St. Joe papers daily and the Falls City Journal. He enjoyed his morning coffee with his friends. Weather permitting he would spend most of his days on his deck watching TV, reading and doing crosswords. He enjoyed traveling with maybe his most memorable trip being to Ireland working on genealogy. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Falls City Elks Lodge and Falls City American Legion.
Terry is survived by his wife, Margaret of Falls City, son, Vance and his wife Mitzi of Belmont, MS, step-children, Kari and Adam Schutte both of Falls City, grandchildren, Austin, Carly and Tyler, step-grandchildren, Colton, Kira and Alex Vollan, Jake and Nate Craine, step-great-grandchildren, Hadley and Nash and an uncle, Gerard Timothy of Nebraska City, NE. He was preceded in death by his, parents, brother, Gary and a sister, Carol Thompson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Thomas Dunavan as the presiding priest. Interment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.
A Parish Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 6:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the rosary.
