Clara M. Speers, age 87, of Blaine, WA, passed away on April 9, 2018. Clara was born April 21, 1930 in Lyman, Nebraska to Howard and Lila Miller. Clara was the oldest of nine children.
Clara attended high school in Rulo, Neb. Following high school, Clara married Charles R. Speers on July 1, 1948 and raised two sons, Richard and Daniel. The family spent several years moving from duty station to duty station in the Border Patrol before settling down in Blaine, WA.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, her parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister. Clara is survived by her son Richard and wife Sandy of Custer, WA; son Daniel and wife Terry of Birch Bay, WA; grandchildren, Nicki, Lisa, Christopher, Stefanie and great grandchildren Jaden, Corey, Zachary, Logan, Shawn and Alivia. Also by her sisters Linda Beckner and Judy Adams from Falls City, Neb.
Clara enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at the Jerns Funeral Chapel, 800 E. Sunset Dr., Bellingham, WA at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018.
