Former Humboldt Standard publisher Jack Cooper passes away

Jack Cooper, 85, of Humboldt, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at the Colonial Acres Nursing Home in Humboldt. John ‘Jack’ Robert Cooper was born December 5, 1932.

Cooper was the longtime owner of the Humboldt Standard newspaper. He sold the paper in December of 2017. Jack purchased the Humboldt Standard on April 1, 1975, and had received many awards during his newspaper career, including the Nebraska Press Harpst Award in 2014. Funeral arrangements are pending.
