Carl McGinnis

Carl Fredrick McGinnis, Lincoln. He was born in Dawson, on June 28, 1927 to Anna and Ernest McGinnis. He passed away on Dec. 2, 2017.

Carl attended both Catholic and Public schools in Dawson. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Oct.5, 1950 where he served two years, part of that time in Germany near his Mother’s hometown where he met her brothers and sisters.

Carl married Jean Hartung on May 12,1956 at St. Mary’s Church in Dawson. Two children were born to this union, Charles Ernest on May 8,1958 and Gregg Anthony on Jan. 29, 1964. Carl worked in construction mainly as a Heavy Equipment Operator all of his married life, first with Meredith Drilling in Denver, CO, Capitol Bridge, Olson Construction Co. 12 years and Constructors, Inc 15 years all of Lincoln.

He is survived by his wife Jean of Lincoln and son Chuck of Denver, brother Michael McGinnis of Council Bluffs,IA and Margaret Weagel of Falls City.

He was preceded in death by one son, Gregg, two sisters, Anna Lou Farnsworth and Rosemary Inglis. Five brothers, Qualls, Joe, John, Tom and Jim.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dawson on Wed. Dec. 6 at 11:00 am. Condolences may be left on line at trumpmemorials.com.
