BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND… The Jeweltones!

The Jeweltones, a St. Louis based female singing group, will be in concert at the First United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 3, at 7pm.  The group has strong ties to Falls City with Amalia Morehead LaViolette being one of the five very talented singers.

The concert will include Broadway show tunes and nostalgic music from the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and 50’s, plus a variety of other styles.

In the summer of 1999, the Jeweltones journey began as the five were cast as best friends in a community production of Noel Coward’s 1929 musical hit Bitter Sweet. They quickly discovered a common love of music, laughter, chocolate, and the strong bond of their faith. As their friendship deepened, so did their love of singing together and by 2003 they realized a dream of producing and performing their first full-length concert.

Locally and regionally, The Jeweltones have found numerous opportunities to sing together as they give back to their communities by raising money for area churches, scholarship programs and cancer research. Singing at local hospitals for rehabilitating friends and family members plus holding benefit concerts and performing at retirement homes, conventions and parties of all sizes have been some of their other venues. Some years ago they were featured on KSKD’s “Show Me St. Louis.”

In 2010, after nearly a year of recording and editing, they realized another important JT goal, the production of their first CD. There’s talk of a second!

Come enjoy the exquisite close harmonies and outstanding blend of the Jeweltones as they sing and dance the night away. This concert is supported by the Richardson County Arts and Humanities. A freewill offering will be accepted.
