LARRY E. BRAZAU

Larry Eugene Brazau, 69, of Wichita, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 in Clearwater, KS. He was born in Falls City on May 8,1946, the first son and second child to William Rudolph and Helen Marie (Bauman) Brazau.  

He graduated from Falls City High School in 1965 and immediately joined the U.S. Navy. Larry wed Susanne Constantine on July 10, 1966 after a long-distance relationship. He and Susanne lived in Milton, FL before moving back to Falls City in 1969.

Larry worked for Fleskoski’s Food Basket while in high school, as well as after his return, and also worked for the City of Falls City until re-enlisting in the Navy in 1974 and moving to Glenview, IL. He was an aviation storekeeper until his discharge in 1977, when he and his family moved back to Nebraska. Larry was a “jack-of-all-trades,” holding jobs as a maintenance man, carpenter, electrician, appliance repairman and as a substitute minister.

His biggest passions were serving the Lord, his family and fishing. Larry knew the Bible from cover-to-cover and wasn’t afraid to share scripture. He served as both a deacon and an elder. His love for his wife, children and grandchildren ran very deep. Some of his fondest memories were of fishing with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Treva; sister, Vikki Jean Brazau; half-brothers, Joseph William Brazau and David Darryl Wistuba; and step-sister, Betty Jean Stewart.

He is survived by his wife, Susanne, of Wichita, KS; sons, William John Sr. (Debra), of LaVista, and Ronald Eugene (Angela), of Plattsmouth; daughter, Catherine Susanne (Michael) Weddle, of Peck, KS; grandchildren, Anthony Eugene Sutherland, William John Jr. and Ryan Martin Brazau, and Victoria Lynn Weddle; step-grandchildren, Josh Martin, Terryn Martin, Chloe Budd and Tristan Freeburg; half-sister, Judith Alene Wistuba, of Trimble, MO; half-brother, Donald Dean Wistuba, of Topeka, KS; step-brother, Glenn LeRoy (Judy) Murphy, of Falls City; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2015 at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
