At age 57, Dick James weighed nearly 300 pounds and was fearful that he might lose both his legs from Adult Onset Diabetes. Three years later and 125 pounds lighter, those thankful legs crossed the finish line at the Lincoln National Guard Marathon.
Dick, of rural Verdon, competed in the marathon May 4 and got third in his age group of 19 competitors. He ran the full 26 miles in 4 hours, 8 minutes, and 32 seconds. His previous time, which he ran at age 20, was three minutes and 16 seconds more.

2.) To purchase the E-edition, on the left side of the fcjournal.net home page, click the blue ‘Create an account’ link. A new page will open and please fill out the necessary information in the ‘User Registration’ form below the heading, ‘New User Account With Membership Subscription.’ After you have completed the form, click ‘Register’ and you will be redirected to the Journal’s PayPal account where you can pay for your subscription. After payment is made you will be taken back to the home page where you can use your log-in name and password to begin using your subscription. Please allow a few minutes for your payment to process before logging in to the site.
