Tiger junior Weinmann shoots 77, wins HTRS Invite

Falls City High junior Brody
Weinmann fired a 5-over-par
77 last Tuesday at Kirkman’s
Lakeview Golf Course to finish
in first place at the Humboldt-
TR-S Invitational. Weinmann
went out with a 37 on the par
36 course and came in with 40
to finish six strokes ahead of
runner-up Connor Freeman of
Pawnee City.

Johnson County Central bested
Auburn 370 to 371 for the
team title, while FC tied Centennial
for fourth place with a
combined score of 389. Hosts,
HTRS, were fifth with a 392.
Tony Jimenez led the Titans with
a 91, which was good for ninth.
The Tigers remaining team
scores included Aaron Kurpgeweit
(98), Colton Reiss (106)
and Preston Deckinger (108).
Cody Frederick’s 115 was not
taken.

FC finished ninth at Thursday’s
Nebraska City Invitational
played at Wildwood Golf Course.
Weinmann was the lone Tiger to
break 100 and finished with a
round of 93. Kurpgeweit’s 102,
Bailey Bindle’s 108 and Deckinger’s
112 were counted for the
team score of 415.

Plattsmouth claimed team
honors with a 361, 12 strokes
better than second-place Auburn.
Tanner Reed of Plattsmouth was
the low medalist with his round
of 81.

The Tiger golfers are at the
Wymore Invitational tomorrow
beginning at 9:30 a.m. and will
hold Parent’s Night next Tuesday
evening during the Tiger
track team’s invitational at Jug
Brown Stadium.
