Kyler Wayne Jones, 15, a sophomore at Hiawatha (KS) High School, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at his Hiawatha home. He was born at Hiawatha on April 19, 1998, to Rick and Betty Sue (Huss) Jones.
At Hiawatha HS, he played football and golfed. Kyler was involved in youth wrestling and ran track in middle school. Kyler attended the First Baptist Church Family Life Center.
Survivors include his parents: brother, Brode; sister, Sheridan; grandparents, Carroll Huss, of Robinson, KS, Bobby Huss, of Fulton MO, Wayne and Debra Jones, of Reserve, Sherry and Nick Keller, and Carol Jones, all of Hiawatha; great-grandparents, Dorothy Jones, of Reserve, Neva Keller, of White Cloud, and Marvin “Red” Hutsell, of Centralia, MO; 14 uncles, 14 aunts, 29 cousins; and a very large extended family.
A celebration of Kyler’s life is planned for 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at the Memorial Auditorium, downtown Hiawatha. Pastor Greg Pudwill will officiate, assisted by Ryan Van Peursem and Nick Pierce. Following the service, everyone is invited to the Family Life Center for refreshments to continue to celebrate Kyler’s life.
