The Falls City Chamber Main Street will be hosting its annual “Spooks on the Square” from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31. Along with trick or treating downtown merchants, there will be mini hay rides, a “spooky” photo booth, as well as carnival games and booths.
At 5:30, all “spooks” will gather at the downtown mini-park for the “Spooks on the Square” costume contest. This year the costume contest will have a youth division, an adult division (best costume), as well as a Best Overall “Spooks on the Square” costume winner. The youth division will be broken down into the following categories: Most Creative/Homemade, “Spook”iest/Scariest, Most Comical/Funniest, and the Best Celebrity Look-Alike.
New this year will be a “Spooks Across Town” ghost hunt. “Spooks” will be hidden at participating Chamber Main Street merchants across town the week of Halloween. The “ghost finders” will bring their “spooks” to the Chamber Main Street booth at the “Spooks on the Square” event in exchange for prizes such as gift certificates, discounts and free merchandise from the participating retailers. Ghost hunters are limited to one spook per person.
