James T. “Tom” Lewis, 73, of Valencia, CA, passed away April 29, 2013 at Valencia. He was born Dec. 18, 1939 at Falls City to the late Guy and Ethel (Howard) Lewis.
On June 27, 1964 he married Janet E. Oliver at Humboldt. She passed away April 25, 1997.
Tom graduated from Humboldt High School in 1957; he served in the National Guards and then worked for OPPD as a lineman for several years. Tom and his wife Janet owned the Lewis TV Appliance & Furniture Center in Humboldt until 1983 when they moved to Valencia where he was a lineman for the City of Los Angeles until his retirement in 1999. During retirement he found enjoyment in refurbishing the antique radios and clocks that he had collected during the last 50 years. He also enjoyed working in Tucson for his son, Jarrod, at Lewis Electric.
Tom is survived by his son, Jarrod Lewis of Marana, AZ; daughter, Joella Fields of Blaine, KY; brother, Gary (Marge), of Humboldt; sisters, Rose Marie (Don) Rears, of Stella, Bonnie (Jerry) Mehlin, of Stella, Betty (Dean) Whitfield, of Bellevue; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Weinert officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.
The family received friends Monday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
