A Falls City woman remains in Richardson County Jail after allegedly stabbing her husband during a domestic disturbance Thursday night.
Tiffany Gates, 33, was arrested and cited for first degree domestic assault and assault with a deadly weapon after Officer Travis Mitchell with the Falls City Police Department responded to a disturbance call at 8th and Harlan shortly after 10 p.m.
Officer Mitchell stated that once he arrived at the house he was directed to the bedroom where he found Tiffany’s husband Damon injured and bleeding from his face and head. According to the affidavit of probable cause, blood was also splattered all over the walls in the bedroom.
Allegedly a verbal argument between the Gates’ became physical with Tiffany allegedly stabbing her husband several times in the head with a pocket knife before he was able to get the knife away from her.
Tiffany stated her husband climbed on top of her and hit her in the face. After she was placed under arrest, she became combative and at one point threw a glass ashtray at Mr. Gates, which nearly struck him in the head. She was subdued, cuffed and taken to the Richardson County Jail
Mr. Gates was transported by ambulance to Community Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Last summer, the couple was involved with a domestic altercation that resulted in the arrest of Mr. Gates.
