Falls City Police Chief John Caverzagie said Thursday morning that the investigation is still ongoing regarding the armed burglary at 202 E. 8th Street in Falls City.
Chief Caverzagie also said the police do have a list of potential suspects, though no has been questioned.
The break-in occurred at approximately 1:45 a.m. Tuesday when Robert C. Blain, who lives at the residence with his son, Eric, woke up to see why his dog was barking. When Blain walked into his kitchen he noticed his front door was open. It was then that a man wearing a bandana over his face stepped out and pointed a gun at his head, demanding medication.
Blain said the man left, while still pointing the gun at him, when he was told there was no medication in the house.
Blain gave a vague description of the suspect and told investigators that he wasn’t able to get a good look at the suspect’s face because of the bandana. Blain also told the FCPD that a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun was missing from the home. The pistol is owned by his son, Eric, who is currently working out of town.
Chief Caverzagie said they did not want to release any further information regarding the individual’s description.
An attempt to speak to Mr. Blain Thursday morning was unsuccessful.
Chief Caverzagie is still asking anyone who may have seen anything to contact the Falls City Police Department at 402-245-4422. Caverzagie also stressed the importance of citizens to contact the police departmen if they see anything unusual or suspicious happening, especially at night.
