<p>Larry, as he was known by family and friends,was born August 26, 1957, in Puyallup, Washington, to Lawrence Sr., and Mary Ferne (Trapp) Woods.  At a young age the family moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where Larry was raised and graduated high school.   He worked for various construction companies around Lincoln before starting his lifelong career in communications in 1984, retiring in 2023.</p>
<p>He was married and later divorced.</p>
<p>Larry is survived by daughters: Amber Siebenmorgen (Dan), Ashley Woods; sisters:  Natalie Stege (Albert), Diane Garcia (Rene), grandchildren:  Dalton, Jaydee and Jerrick, nephews, nieces and other extended family.</p>
<p>He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings:  Roddrick Woods, Michael Woods, Edward Florang, Vonnie Hageman, and Gay Dean Barber.</p>
<p>A Celebration of Larry’s life is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Fairview United Church of Christ with Pastor Shane Spangler officiating.</p>
<p>Friends may call at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Hiawatha after 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday.  The family will meet with friends one hour prior to services at Church</p>
<p>Memorial contributions are suggested to Hope Brown County or Nebraska Affiliate of the American Cancer Society which may be sent in care of the funeral home, 124 S 7<sup>th</sup> St., 66434.</p>

They were later divorced.  Don worked for Lincoln Telephone &amp; Telegraph in Lincoln and Auburn for 38 years, until he retired to farm full-time.  Don later married Linda McMann, giving him his stepsons, Terry, Eric, and Dustin McMann, who he raised as his own. The couple later divorced.  </strong></p>

He was an avid Husker Football fan. While his kids were growing up, he taught them good work ethics and how to have fun. Summers were filled with many camping trips and time spent on his brother’s boat, and the annual family trip to Worlds of Fun.  They never knew what species of orphaned wild critter he’d bring home to rehabilitate. In recent years, Don slowed down a bit and his escapades kept him closer to home with his daily visits to the local establishments for coffee, dinner, and keeping abreast of the local current events.  </strong></p>
<p style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; white-space: normal; background-color: #ffffff; text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial;"><strong style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: bold;">With a recent decline in his health, he entered Colonial Acres Assisted Living, then transferred to Colonial Acres Nursing Home following serious illness and hospitalization.  Don entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Colonial Acres Nursing Home in Humboldt having reached the earthly age of seventy-eight years, eight months, and eleven days.  He is preceded in death by parents, brother John <span class="markh8p1zydu1" data-markjs="true" data-ogac="" data-ogab="" data-ogsc="" data-ogsb="">Eis</span>, stepson Terry McMann, son-in-law Lynn Ronnebaum, brothers-in-law Paul Burgett and Harold Koeneke, niece Heidi Jo Duncan, and nephew Michael Snyder.  </strong></p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Fred W. Brewer. 80, of Falls City, NE, passed away April 18, 2024 at Falls City. He was born July 11, 1943 at Falls City to Frank and Rowena (Kentopp) Brewer.</p>
<p>He married Dorothy Scholl on July 15, 1967 at Falls City.</p>
<p>Fred served in the Nebraska National Guard 134th Infantry Company B located in Falls City</p>
<p>Fred was raised east of Falls City and graduated Falls City High School in 1961 where he played on the undefeated 1960 football team and participated in track, band and FFA. He was the first person from Falls City awarded the Nebraska State Farmer State FFA Award. He then attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for 1 and a half years studying agriculture before coming back home and farming with his father where they were the first one in the area to use the chemical, Atrazine, that Fred learned about at college. He continued farming, with his sons eventually joining him. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church where he served on the Catholic Cemetery Board. He served on the School Board for one term in the early 80’s, was a member of Falls City Elks and he received the Outstanding Young Farmer Award in 1971.</p>
<p>Fred is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Falls City, children, Scott and his wife Trish of Falls City, Michelle Becker and her husband Dennis of Seneca, KS, Nicole Brewer-McAfee of Falls City, daughter-in-law, Becky Brewer of Falls City, grandchildren, Sydney, Justin and Lexi Brewer, Jake, Erin, Seth and Kacy Brewer, Cecelia and Asa Becker, Trey and Kellen McAfee. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Mark.</p>
<p>A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Jim Meysenburg officiating. Interment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery.</p>
<p>A parish rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 7:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home and the family will receive friends following the rosary.</p>

<p>Viewing will begin on Monday afternoon at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ronald Morris, 44, of Falls City, NE, passed away April 16, 2024 at Falls City. He was born August 3, 1979 at Topeka, KS to Jerry and Cynthia (Kinkle) Morris.</p>
<p>Ron was raised in Ft. Worth, TX and graduated Aledo High School in 1998. He then started working construction with his father and brother. He also took great pride in being a volunteer fire fighter for the Aledo Fire Department. He moved to Falls City in 2012 and has lived here since.</p>
<p>Ron is survived by his life partner, Jessica Judd of Falls City, daughter, Kathrien Morris, parents, Jerry and Cynthia Morris of Aledo, TX, brother, James of Aledo, sister, Erin Leivstad of Lawrence, KS, and a niece, Hailey Judd. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.</p>
<p>It was Ronald’s wish to be cremated and service will be held at a later date.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Doyle Ramer, 97, of Falls City, NE, passed away April 19, 2024 at Falls City. He was born February 28, 1927 northeast of Barada, NE to Leonard Levi and Ona Mae (Mount) Ramer.</p>
<p>He married Orma Marie Sailors on June 29, 1952 at her parent’s home, west of Barada. She passed away September 30, 1999.</p>
<p>Doyle enlisted in the U. S. Army on December 19, 1948 and was honorably discharged in December of 1949 and then recalled back to active duty on October 14, 1950. He served in Korea and earned the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars. He was honorably discharged on November 22, 1951 at Camp Carson, CO.</p>
<p>Doyle was raised northeast of Barada and lived in Falls City all of his life, except for the six months he lived in Salem, OR. He worked for Morehead Auto and frontier Homes before becoming employed by the Richardson County Roads Department, where he worked for 14 years before retiring in 1989 to take of his wife for the next 11 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #1765 in Falls City.</p>
<p>Doyle is survived by his sons, Jeffery of Kearney, NE, Rodney of Bartow, FL, Ron McConnel of Missouri Valley, IA, fiancé, Oneida Chandler of Falls City and her children, Linda and Larry Franzen and family of Falls City and Teresa and Kerry Pfister and family of Falls City, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Penny Sue Nissen, brothers, Wayne and Kenneth, grandchildren, Josh Nissen, Jade Ramer and Gaberial Ramer, a great-granddaughters and a sister, Linda Lee Dicks.</p>
<p>His funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Boatright officiating. Interment will be in Harris Cemetery. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.</p>
<p>Open viewing and visitation will begin Monday afternoon at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.</p>

She was born January 1, 1930 at Rulo, NE to John Henry and Clara (Brooks) Stevens, Sr.</span></p>

He passed away in 1985.</span></p>

In 1950 they purchased a farm in Mound City, MO and moved there. They lived in Horton, KS before moving back to Falls City in 1960. She helped manage her husband’s construction business, Jay Cromer Construction. She also did exterior and interior house painting, wood trim finishing and hung wall paper. She raised AKC Pugs and enjoyed quilting and gardening. She was a hard worker but loved to fish.</span></p>

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, as son, Stan, brothers, Curtis, Robert, John Jr., Chester, Harvey, Floyd and Clarence, sisters, Delila, Chlorene, Emma Florence, brother-in-law, Charles Cromer and a sister-in-law, Bessie.</span></p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Patty Holtz, 93, of Baldwin City, KS, passed away April 9, 2023 at Baldwin City. She was born August 8, 1929 at Kansas City, KS to Floyd and Jessie (Mullins) Standiford.</p>
<p>She married Harold Holtz on December 26, 1946 at Paola, KS. He passed away November 28, 2009.</p>
<p>Patty lived in various places to do her father’s military service. She married the couple established their home in Falls City and she was a nurse at the Falls City Hospital. In 1983 they moved to Pratt, KS and to Baldwin City in 2005. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church at Falls City.</p>
<p>Patty is survived by her children, Les and his wife Trudy of Lawrence, KS, Coralie Donley and her husband Larry of Wichita Falls, TX, ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Paul and grandchildren, Robert Holtz and Megan Donley.</p>
<p>Patty was cremated and the family will have services in the fall.</p>

Hendricksen, 78 years of age, passed away in his sleep around Tuesday, March 28, 2023, while in his home in Falls City. He was born on Wednesday, August 23, 1944, in Beatrice NE to Vernon E. and Esther K. (Burroughs) Hendricksen.</p>
<p class="x_x_MsoNoSpacing">Family will greet friends during a luncheon from 11 AM to 1 PM at Heartland Community Church (formerly Filley United Methodist Church) in Filley on Monday, April 24, 2023 followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM by Pastor Lori Robinson. Inurnment will follow in the Filley Cemetery south of Filley. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the March of Dimes in care of the mortuary and the family encourages you to get vaccinated whenever possible. <p>Mary Beth Bowen, 90, Hiawatha, KS peacefully passed away Monday April 10, 2023 at St. Luke&#8217;s Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.</p>
<p>She was born November 13, 1932 to Ben and Mildred Nottingham.  After graduation from Hiawatha High School, she married Hillis Bowen on September 3, 1950. They enjoyed 72 years of married life together.</p>
<p>Mary Beth was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Marion, Donald, Larry and infant sister Jeanette.</p>
<p>She is survived by her husband of the home, son Terry,  Hiawatha,  KS, daughters Beth (Mark)Scheve, Topeka, KS, Karen (Dale) Bruemmer, Jefferson City, MO,  and Katherine (Harold)Wingert,  Ottawa, KS; sisters Joan Christian, Marion, OH, Bettie Tollefson, Lenexa, KS and Jeanne (Paul) Grizzle, Shawnee, KS. She will be greatly missed by all, especially her 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.</p>
<p>A memorial service will be held Monday, April 17, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Hiawatha First United Methodist Church.</p>
<p>In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Morrill Public Library in care of Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, 124 S 7<sup>th</sup> St., 66434.</p>
<p>Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 12 noon until 3 p.m. Sunday.</p>

<p>Michael Joseph Ogden, of Hiawatha, passed away December 28, 2022 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.  He was 83.</p>
<p>Michael was named after his great-grandfather Michael Joseph Robidoux, wife of Jenny Rulo Robidoux of Rulo, Nebraska.  Michael was born November 4, 1939, at Omaha, Nebraska, the fourth son of Howard and Carolyn Henningsen Ogden.  Mike’s grandmother Carrie Robidoux Ogden of Rulo, Nebraska named Mike after his great-grandfather who was born in 1839.</p>
<p>He is preceded in death by his parents, twin brothers Leonard ‘Larry’ and Leonard, brothers Charles and Howard, Jr. (Butch), USMC killed in action in 1967 during Vietnam War, and sister Carol Ogden McGinnis.</p>
<p>Survivors include brother John Ogden of Dallas, TX and sister Maggie Ardery of New River, AZ.</p>
<p>His children Carlelle was born in 1962, Steve in 1964, and Nathan in 1968. They survive.  Also survive along with grandchildren Alyssa Connolly (Garber), Diego Valcarcel, Maxwell Wagner, with many nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>Mike attended schools in Omaha, NE and in 1954 went to Omaha Tech High.  He served with the U.S. Marines from 1957 until 1963, discharged at rank of PFC.  He was an honor marine FMF.</p>
<p>He moved to Phoenix to be with his family, mother, sisters and brothers in 1968.  He owned and operated for many years a retail and military marketing business, retiring to Sun City, AZ.  In 2007 he moved back to the White Cloud Reservation where he was a respected tribal member working on many important issues with the Iowa Tribe.  He helped with Seniors’ Programs and Elders, THPO with Lance Foster, the Tribal Historic Workshops and the Ioway Museum.  He did research and genealogy of his native American heritage about the history of the Iowa Tribe from 1820-1890.  He also was a member of the Iowa Tribal Honor Guard.</p>
<p>A celebration of Mike’s eternal life is planned for 9 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church, Hiawatha. Reverend Michael Dunaway will officiate.  Services and lunch will be held later at 12 noon Saturday, at the George Ogden Building on the Iowa Reservation near White Cloud.  Inurnment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mt. Zion Community, northeast of Hiawatha.  Military honors will be a courtesy of the Iowa Tribe Honor Guard.</p>
<p>Friends may call at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Hiawatha Thursday and Friday during office hours.  The family will meet with friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Church.</p>
<p>Memorial contributions suggested to Zion Lutheran Church sent in care of the funeral home, 124 S 7<sup>th</sup> St., 66434.</p>
