“Pat” Joseph W. Martin, 77, of Salem, died Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Salem. He was born Dec. 9, 1937 at Falls City to the late Joseph and Loretta (Mahoney) Martin.
On Oct. 15, 1960 he married Marilyn Sue Schwab, at Falls City.They were later divorced.
Pat was raised at Falls City and graduated from FCHS in 1955. He then worked for the railroad. He graduated from Peru State College in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science Degree and taught biology at Bellevue Junior High School. He owned his own businesses the majority of his life and worked for Restaurant Management Corp. and lived various places, managing their restaurants. He moved back to Bellevue and then to Salem in 1994.
Pat was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Falls City and Pheasants Forever.
He is survived by sons, Robert (Mary) Martin, of Sacramento, CA, Mitchell (Jennifer) Martin, of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Michael Martin, of Omaha; grandchildren, Candy, Jessica, Brecklynn and Caden Martin; great-grandson, Hunter Cruz; ex-wife, Marilyn Sue Martin, of Omaha.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tom; and sister, Mary Elizabeth Williams.
The body of Mr. Martin has been cremated and a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, with Msgr. Robert officiating. Interment in Falls City Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary will be read at 7 p.m. Friday, March 20, at Dorr & Clark Funeral Home, of Falls City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the Rosary.
