MSGT Jimmie L. Miller, U.S.A.F. Ret., 79, of Falls City, passed away Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 at Lincoln. He was born June 11, 1935 at Fortescue, MO to the late Byron and Fern (Perry) Miller.
Jimmie enlisted in the U. S. Air Force on Aug. 26, 1952 at Omaha. He served as a mechanic and retired and was honorably discharged as a Master Sergeant on Aug. 31, 1972 at McConnell Air Force Base at Wichita, KS after 20 years of service.
On June 15, 1857 he married Bernice Snider at Falls City; she passed away April 10, 2005.
Jimmie was raised in Rulo and graduated from Reserve High School in 1952. When he retired from military service he returned to Falls City and worked for the City of Falls City. In 1973 he and Bernice operated the One Stop Café until 1986 when she retired. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene of Falls City.
Jimmie is survived by his son, Dennis, of Falls City; daughters, Deena (Mike) Kafer, of Falls City, Deb (Joe) Jarred, and Darlena (Jeff) Huettner, both of Verdon; brothers, Randy and Bill Miller, both of Falls City; sister, Sharon Miller of Kansas City, KS; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bernice, of 48 years; daughter, Teresa Miller; brothers, Tommy and Roy Miller.
His funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014 at Dorr & Clark Funeral Home, with Pastors Stephen Floyd and Richard Lehmkuhl officiating. Interment will be in Rulo Cemetery. Military graveside honors by U.S. Air Force Honor Guard supported by the Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dorr & Clark Funeral Home.
