Again the weather was perfect for the 3rd Annual CMC Foundation Golf Fore Good Health Charitable Tournament hosted by Richardson County Bank & Trust.
Sixty-four golfers enjoyed Friday’s tournament with special celebrity guests, Heisman Trophy winners Johnny “the Jet” Rodgers and Eric Crouch and UNL football great Clester Johnson. Coach William Reed orchestrated the celebrities’ presence for the CMC Foundation event.
The Championship Flight was won by Heartland Health of St. Joseph, MO. The team of Steve Chandler, Josh Chandler, Noel Boye and Eric Oldham fired a 61 for the round. Second was Miller-Monroe team of Steve Simon, Mike Simon, Jason McNeely & Gary Hays with a 62.
“A” Flight 1st; Robert Aitken/F.C. Mercantile team of Bob Aitken, Bill Simon, Erik McNeely & Mark Hillyard with a 64. 2nd in the “A” Flight; the Ryan Larsen Team of John Moore, Kevin Compton, Brody & Bubba Weinmann with a 67.
“B” Flight 1st; the RCB&T team of Adam Morris, Rob Gerweck, Doug Ayer, and Eric Crouch with a score of 70; 2nd in “B” Flight; F&M Bank – Tony Brunette, Tim Pfister, Steve Hutfles & Denny Heinzelman.
Country Cabin grilled steaks for all after the tournament as awards and prizes were announced.
The charitable event raised about $10,000.00 for the hospital foundation in support of healthcare and wellness in our regional community, event director Linda Santo said.
