Gayle Barnett, 73, of Falls City, NE, passed away March 13, 2026 at Falls City. She was born April 3, 1952 at Princeton, MO to Robert and Sylvia (Alexander) Holtman.
She married Wesley Leroy Barnett on May 7, 1994 at Des Moines, IA. He passed away November 6, 2023.
Gayle moved to Des Moines as a young teenager and attended North High School. She worked at a speakeasy for over 20 years as a bartender until she met her future husband, Wesley. When married they moved to St. Joseph where she became a homemaker before moving to Falls City in 2018 where she continued to live. She enjoyed shopping bingo, slot machines and always bragging on her grandchildren who, in her words, were her “Pride and Joy!”
Gayle is survived by her brother, Darryl Holtman of Falls City, sister, Mary Pine and her husband John of Port St. Lucie, FL, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her dog, Sassy and cat, Sophie. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughters, Pennie Scates and Shawna Geniuk, brothers, Richard and Doug Holtman and a sister, Chris Bagby.
Gayle has been cremated and the family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
