Kenneth “Kenny” Wayne Kirkendall

Kenneth “Kenny” Wayne Kirkendall, 77, of Falls City, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026.

Kenny was born in Barada, Nebraska, on April 12, 1948, to George and Nola (Kreutzer) Kirkendall. Kenny attended District 21 School and graduated from Falls City High School in 1966. While in high school, he was a member of the FFA Chapter and was elected vice president his senior year. “I like blabbermouths” was his senior quote, and if you knew him, Kenny always had something to say about anything and everything. 

After high school, Kenny enlisted in the Nebraska Army National Guard. He completed basic training on October 18,1967, at Fort Ord Military Base in California. 

On April 11,1970, Kenny married Dorothy (Sells) Kirkendall. They later divorced. 

Kenny put in a lot of time and hard work with the oilfields. He had multiple stories to tell about his work that took him to many states. Kenny also worked for the Georges family and Haveman Brothers Farm. He created many memories that are sure to give you a good laugh. Kenny retired in 2022 due to his health. 

Kenny loved being a grandpa to his grandkids. You could find him cheering them on any chance he was given. He spent multiple Thursdays at 3 State Stockyards watching the cow sale and every once in a while buying a bottle calf. Kenny also enjoyed spending time at the dog food plant in Falls City with many of his friends, young and old. 

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters and daughter-in-law, Belinda.

He is survived by his children Joseph Kirkendall of Marion, IN; Patricia (Erik) Madsen of Hiawatha, KS; Jared (Merci) Kirkendall of Rulo, NE; John (Regina) Kirkendall of Falls City, NE; Victoria (Josh) Luce of Manhattan, KS; 18 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.  

His memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Wayne Shafer officiating. Inurnment will be at Harris Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
