Roger L. Wilhelm, 84, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born on September 9, 1940, in Verdon, Nebraska to William John and Gertrude Ida (Becker) Wilhelm. He graduated from Bern High School in Bern, Kansas with the class of 1958. On June 7, 1964, Roger was united in marriage to Sarah “Sally” Wittwer at Zion United Church of Christ south of Dawson, Nebraska.
To this union two children, Andy and Erin, were born. Roger and Sally established their home in Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1967, they returned to the family farm where Roger farmed, fed cattle, and did custom bulldozing work. He served on the boards of the Four-Mile- Congregational Church, Dawson Rural Fire District, Richardson County Feeders and Breeders, Rural Water District #1, and Nemaha NRD.
Roger passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Colonial Acres Nursing Home in Humboldt, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of eighty-four years, nine months, and twenty-six days.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Bill Wilhelm and twin brother Ronald “Ron” WIlhelm
Roger is survived by his loving wife Sally Wilhelm; son Andy Wilhem of Cary, NC; daughter Erin O’Brien of Cork City, Ireland, siblings: Jim Wilhelm and wife Jan of Humboldt, NE; Gene Wilhelm and wife Marsha of Dawson, NE; Donna Little and husband Jerry of Tucson, AZ; Leon Wilhelm and wife Madaline of Falls City, NE; Tom Wilhelm and wife Susan of Falls City, NE; sisters-in-law Judy Wilhelm of Grand Island, NE; Dee Dee Jones and husband Gene of Colorado Springs, CO; brother-in-law Joe Wittwer and wife Rose of Plattsmouth, NE; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Private Family Services will be held at a later date.
