The Falls City Police Department is investigating an early morning break-in in which the suspect pulled a gun on the victim in his home and demanded medication.
Falls City Police Sergeant Jameson Baker and Officer Pat Stamper were called to 202 E. 8th Street at approximately 1:45 Tuesday morning. Robert C. Blain, who lives with his son at the residence, reported he got up to see why his dog was barking. When Blain walked into his kitchen he noticed his front door was open. At that time, a man stepped out and pointed a gun at his head and demanded medication.
Blain said the man left, while still pointing the gun at him, when he was told there was no medication in the house.
Blain gave a vague description of the suspect and said his face was covered with what appeared to be a bandana. He also reported that a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun was missing from the home. The pistol is owned by Eric Blain, Blain’s son, who is currently working out of town.
Police Chief John Caverzagie is asking anyone who may have seen anything to contact the Falls City Police Department at 402-245-4422. Chief Caverzagie also stressed the importance of citizens to contact the police department if they see anything unusual or suspicious happening, especially at night.
